Hi I’m Alan
I’m a proud Taranaki local — born and bred here. Taranaki is home. I’ve lived here most of my life, surfed the coast, climbed the mountain, raised a family here, and I love being part of a community that looks out for its own.
I bring over 20 years of experience as a software engineer, business and process analyst, CTO, and technology founder. I’m passionate about building software that removes the repetitive admin from business workflows, helping teams focus on meaningful work while improving efficiency, profitability, and work-life balance.
As co-founder, CTO, and Chief Software Architect of ProWorkflow.com, I built one of New Zealand’s first SaaS companies and grew it into one of the world’s leading online project management solutions. We were proud to be finalists for the 2006 New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards “Hi-Tech Innovation of the Year” award, only missing out to Xero.
Before founding ProWorkflow.com, I delivered custom software solutions for government agencies, corporates, and SMEs including ACC, Ministry of Health, ProCare Health, UDC Finance, ANZ Bank, and Dreamboats.com.
From analysis and strategic planning through to full solution delivery, I’ve spent two decades solving complex business process challenges. AI automation isn’t a pivot for me — it’s simply the next evolution of the work I’ve been doing my entire career.
